Abstract:

As ILO emphasizes the soice - cultrural aspects of health and safety in mines be to the forefront in the third miilennium. The gmwth ofa safeCy cuiaae firm& depends on workers' risk aaqtanw. A few theories e.g., Ejrpressed Preference and Homeosta& and some psychological models are helpful to understand this new subject. The article is a rwiew of these theories arid an anatysis of the fatal explosion in Wwtray coal mine (Canada- 1992).
