Abstract:

This project is a cross sectional study in which the hearing loss in coal washing industry wokers and coal Mines Workers (in Pabdana , Heshooni , Hamkar, Hejdak & Babnizoo mines) the Role Rate of observing safety principles in its prevention of the noise study in 2002 2003 years. During this research Hearing Evaluation using Audometry Device: Madsen, Model No: 822 , on 32 Workers was carried out. The results showed that at least %21 to %63 suffer from reduction in their hearing ability to 150 workers were selected. The basis of diagnosis was the history of contact withe noises , and evaluation was based on pure tone Audiometry test (P. T. A). All the workers have been tested and proved to be healthy upon being employed. The enviromnented noises have been measured ten times by sound meter lever and in addition the rate of noises the working place has been thomgh ly checked by the researcher. In analysing the data, descriptive statistiecs, chi squaring test & person correlation coficene. The resulth showed that %28 of the workers were healthy , %20.66 had slight hearing problem, %24.66 slight hearing inability, %22.6 Partial hearing inability, %3.33 severe, and %0.66 complete heaming inability. There was meaninghl relationship between hearing threshold of right and left ears in different frequencies shch as 250 HZ, 500 HZ, 1000 HZ, 2000 HZ, 4000 HZ, and 8000 HZ, with reference to age, working history, duration of expositon to noise, working shift, and time (P<0/0005, P< 0100001 respectively). Based on the research5 observations, hydraulic systems , rather than pneumatic system, must have been used. To reduce noice omly special Cabins have been used. The workers have never been taught working to prevent noise pollution. The mean sound pressure level was found to rnichalcal moving area within 91 112 dB (A) and michnical steady 61 103 dB (A) & product time 2- 6 hours working shift & in mines area within 110 150 dB (A) the rather was of area S. P. L. Research iinding show that reduction in Hearing ability started in 4000 8000 HZ frequencies which are beyond linguistic ffequencies , thus the workers, who did not know this , contact high age, history of work with noise unnoticed th~sm atter and probability findly to ferequncies talking. Sever noise pollutien in the mines and also in the factory, together with look of safty precautions in working place has greatly endangerel the workers with regard to sens, of hearing. Consequently emergency decisions regarding the standardization of working place and preventimy actions and safty pre causions must be token.
