Evaluation of Ergonomic Effects on Safety in a Control room

Abstract:

It was expected application of mechanization automation in industry reduce accidents frequency and severity by decrease of man- machine interaction. Although occurrence of numerous accidents showed spent of critical controlling tasks to human can led to catastrophic accidents. The objective of this research was evaluation of ergonomic factors, especially display1 control design on safety in a control room in HEKMATAN cement factory-HAMADAN. The study conducted by using interaction survey techniques included Display1 Control Analysis (DCA), Labeling Survey and Environmental Survey. The results showed lake of attention to ergonomic principles in design of control room parameters, especially display1 control, induced to increase of human error probability. According to finding, it is recommended to redesign control room parameters. Also define and implementation of operational and safety procedure is essential.
