Abstract:

Cyanide Consumption in Mineral Processing Industries is increased. A few Studies in Iran on Cyanide especially on Muteh Gold factory have been applied, that mainly supposed on cyanide behaviour in water and being affected by Radial under ground water velocity, Molecular diffiusion, hydrodnamic dispersion coefficient, cyanide rnovment retardation factors, while other factors. As cyanide concentration, pH, temprature and oxygen have not been Pointed out. Besides cyanide behaviour in soid and air is neglected, so that cyanide existance in surface and underground waters has been reported to be negative. In general, no reliable and standard Methode on determination of free cyanide and its complexes as thiocyanate has not been found and study about Real cyanide concentration is not trustful. Cyanide degradation does not occuring in a constant rate. Its rnovment and activation in different seasons is varying. Cyanide complexes are not stable but are not degradable in terms of varing pH and temprature conditions. If they are degraded, high degradation will occure. Cyanide loss in muteh surface and undergroundwaters, probably results from CN-, water and C02 composition, so that HCN gas is produced which enteres the air. So cyanide evaporation is as hazardous as its presence in water.
