Abstract:

Most of Zinc and lead Mine disposed tremendous amount of zinc oxide around the site due to lack of economical methods for mineral processing (Technology, Environmental control and etc). Mine disposal waste not only prevent mine development but also pollute the environment. This research aimed to determine the most important factors which affect the floatability of zinc oxide through (design of experiment taguchi and RSM) using oxine as a collector, without sulfidation of surface minerals and Hallimond tube as a cell.The parameters which were selected for this research include: pH, concentration of oxine, starch, tio sulfate sodium, citrate sodium, silicate sodium and conditioning time of pulp.The test results indicates that the optimum condition can be achieved when the pH is equal to 12.3 and concentrations of oxine, starch, tio sulfate sodium, silicate sodium are 1500,1000,1300 and 100 respectively. also conditioning time were found 15 minutes. In this condition the grade of zinc and iron were 15.2% and 6.5%, and recovery of zinc and iron were 55% and 27% respectively. When the grade of feed was 7.5% zinc and 13% iron.
