Abstract:

Design of stable and safe slope in open pit mines is very important. One of trie most important parameters to design of stable slope is safety factor. There are many different maners to calculate the safety factor, one of them is numerical modeling, that can be determined safety factor with software. Sungun Copper Mine located at 120Km far from Tabriz with a total exploitable reserve of one milliard tones. Final pit in this mine has 700m heigh, so determination of safety factor and slope stability analysis is essential. In this paper safety factor and stable slope angle is calculated with Flac software. For numerical modeling behavior parameters by use results of rock mechanic tests and Hock-Brown equations has been calculated. Finally we suggested the best numerical model in Sungun Copper Mine. In this research safety factor for slope angle 37 ° calculated 1.03 and for 39° calculated!.53.
