Abstract:

Noise is one of important injurious agents causing hearing losses or various incidents. High levels of noise pollution affect workers in stone industries. Iran has second score in the world due to produce 9 million tone stone. There are 1806 stone cutting and 230 stone processing units with 6 million tone processing in our country that 22 stone cutting and 3.2 percent of stone processing units are located in Hamedan province. In this survey 10 stone cutting units of Malayer Township were chosen. In these industries noise pollution was measured by sound level meter (model 2230 B&K). General noise by griding method was measured as well as local measuring in worker posture. One octave band frequency analyzing was achived in 21 measuring station (more than 85 dBA). Equivalent levels (leq) and Noise induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) were calculated for 40 workers in this units and Statistical analyzing and graphs by Excel software also. In this study results showed that the average leq (91.14 dBA) and the average work experience was (10.95 years). Regression analysis between NIHL and Leq(ghr) showed the significant correlation (p<0.05) .other significant result was the difference between NIHL and work experiences (P< 0.05). Granite stone industries octave band noise analysis had a major SPL in high frequency and other industries had in low frequencies. Considering mentioned cases selection of acoustic absorbers for stone cutting units should be achieved in according to leader frequency.
