Iran: Inside the Policy Black Box

Starting with a brief review of the main approaches to the study of policy process, I try to integrate these different frameworks into a unique 'system of policy process.' After some adjustments toward cross-national drivers of policy process, this theoretical tool is overlaid onto the situation of policy process in Iran. The nature of the core policy cycle is questioned, respectively, within the unelected and elected parts of the government. The environmental actors including the forces of globalization are also investigated.
