ON THE ARITHMETIC RANK OF A SPECIAL TYPE OF ALGEBRAIC VARIETIES

In this note, we study arithmetic rank of algebraic varieties which are defined by special type of monomials and answer to a question about set theoretic complete intersection of these type of varieties. And claim, the linear variety associated to a shellable complex is set theoretic complete intersection.
