Ecological Study of date palm cicada pest in the villages of the city of Bam

Cicada important date palm pests in Iran.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ecological cicada date palm villages north and south of the city of Bam in order to reduce the cost of fighting the pest is cicada date palm. In this cross-sectional study, four villages was selected according to geographic distribution. Yellow sticky traps were used to catch mosquitoes. According to the density of four places in each village and in any place on six trap palm was installed. The four villages under the study a total of 96 sticky traps (24 traps for each village) were collected. Check sticky traps showed Palm orchard of the villages of northern and north eastern %48 were infected insect cicada date palm and South Western and Southern Palm orchard %36 villages were infected. The results of this study showed was Pest pollution in villages north and east of the city of palm groves due to the high density of those areas was higher than the south and south west
