Synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives through Hantzsch reaction catalyzed by benzyltriphenyl phusphonium chloride

A simple, efficient and inexpensive one-pot synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives under solvent-free conditions using benzyltriphenyl phusphonium chloride as a catalyst is described.
