Effect of Different chitosan/PVA volumetric ratio on Morphology of Electrospun Nanofibers

In this study Nanofibers of a chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) blend were successfully prepared using electrospinning techniques. CS was dissolved with Acetic Acid in distilled water, and this solution of CS (6 wt%) with PVA (15 wt%), blended in different volumetric ratios, was electrospun to obtain nanofibers.SEM images showed that the morphology and diameter of the nanofibers were affected by the volumetric ratio of the blend. Nanofibers were observed when the CS content was over than 25 wt%. The average diameter of the optimum sample of nanofibers was at the range of 21–372 nm, and this average diameter gradually increased with increasing PVA content
