The Status of Development in One-Year-Old Children in Hormozgan Province, Southern Iran

چکیده مقاله:

Development involves aspects of growth, including changes in physical, mental, emotional and social. Children’s development early detection of developmental disorders is an essential part of basic health measures, which is treatable in timely intervention; otherwise, leave irreparable effects. The aim of this study was to check the status of development in one-yr-old children in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran. This descriptive study was conducted in this province in 2017 on 25740 children 12 months of age referred to health centers. Population-based sampling and evaluation were conducted using questionnaire ASQ. Questionnaire data were evaluated and statistical analysis was performed using software SPSS. Overall, 1973 children were identified as developmental disorders. Totally, 559 cases in the gross motor area (43.2%), 467 cases in the area of problem solving (23.7%), 368 cases in the field of fine motor area (18.7%), 339 cases in the field of personal and social (17.2%) and 240 cases in the field of communication (12.1%) were impaired. In the first 2 yr of life, brain development is quickly and becaus e of developmental disorders in children studied, launched integrated center of developmental disorders in children and timely referral to the center are essential to investigate this issue
