A New Hybrid Method for Color Image Segmentation

In this paper, we present a new hybrid color image segmentation scheme based on the Hue histogram of the images. On original image a fuzzy classifier is employed to categorize the pixels on two classes, chromatic and achromatic. Then original image Hue passes through a spatial filter to generate the input of the fuzzy back-propagation neural network as a fuzzy number from the local features of the chromatic pixels. The network outputs are the underlying color class of chromatic pixels. Finally, obtained image is smoothed by employing an averaging filter to the Hue component of image .The results are repre-sentative of the high performance of the proposed scheme
