Estimation of Sensible Regions of Aquifer to Discharge Losses for Water Wells (Case Study: Ardabil City)

Most urban water wells have little shelf life(below 10 years) in Iran.Thesephenomenaoccurs due to water table drop, inappropriate pump selection or decrease in pumps efficiency, corrosionof screen, changes in grading of gravel pack and may cause losses in water discharge.As drilling and equippinga new wellrequires considerablecosts, operators are tending to discover and solve the problem. In this study, data obtained from 23 ater wells of Ardabil cityin an11 years period from 2003 to 2013(e.g. water able, SO4and Fe concentration) is implemented in GIS environment by zoning and superposition of data layers. The results of model,determined the sensible regions of Ardabil city to discharge losses in water wells. Finally, executive solutions are proposed.
