Effective removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutionusing beta-cyclodextrin modified magnetic cellulose nanofiber

Beta-cyclodextrin polymer modified cellulose nanofiber-Fe3O4 (B-CDP/MNFC) were synthesized and fully characterized. The adsorption behavior for the removal of methylene blue was investigated by isotherm and kinetic equations, and the results were fitted wellwith the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order model. The maximum adsorption capacities (Qm) of nanohydrogel as obtained from Langmuir adsorption isotherm was found to be 2.17 mg g-1 for this cationic dye.
