Hydrodynamic Behavior of a pseudo D Conical Spouted Bed by CFD Tool

The hydrodynamics of a two-dimensional conicalspouted bed was studied using a two-fluid modelincorporating the kinetic theory of granular flows.Incoherent and steady spouting were analyzed andseveral hydrodynamic parameters were evaluated. Someparameters that influence the incoherent and steadyspouting were investigated by the model. CFD modelpredicted the incoherent spouting in a D conicalspouted bed operated by Liu et al. (Chem. Eng. Sci., ). Effects of cone angle and superficial gas velocityhave been studied by the model. Comparison of thesimulation results with the experimental data showedfairly good agreement.
