Investigation of three Medicinal Plant Seed Dormancy of Fabaceae Family

Fabaceae family has important medicinal plant. The seed ecotypes were clouded Abrus precatorius L., Latyrus cicera, Latyrus sativus, Securigeria securidaca, Trigonella foenigraeicum, Wisteria sinensis. In this family many seeds have thick seed coat and physical dormancy. These species grow and reproduce under conditions of disturbance; It was found that the seeds require scarification to germination. As with other legumes, this seed ecotypes have a tough seed coat, which influences germination, and susceptibility to predication by brushed. Scarified by different sandpaper number. Treatment were included of 4 sandpaper number (60, 80, 100, 150 and 220), Piercing seed coat by Scalpel, Sodium hypochlorite Treatment.The results form this study contributes to an understanding of the percentage of germination and the Mean germination time of these Fabaceae seeds in water and scarification treatment
