چکیده مقاله:

The chemical industries are faced with an increasingly competitive environment, ever-changing market conditions, and government regulations; yet, they still must increase productivity and profitability. Dynamic plant studying is a powerful tool that helps managers and engineers link business operations to process operations. The understanding of the dynamic behavior of distillation columns has received considerable attention because distillation remains the most commonly used separation process in the chemical industry. The separation of a homogenous multi-component mixture is realized in sequences of conventional distillation columns. This sequential separation does not only require high capital cost but also high amounts of energy. Their energy requirements can be considerably reduced when applying heat integration. In this paper, the dynamic behavior of the possible distillation columns sequences of the industrial case with heat integration of them is analyzed to compare the controllability of them. This investigation does by applying Aspen Plus, Aspen Dynamics and Simulink in steady state and dynamic simulations. The results indicate that the heat-integrated sequences are controllable, and that they may even show better dynamic responses than the conventional distillation sequence.
