Developing Golmakan ecotourism using Terjung index

Today tourism industry is one of the biggest industries in the world and has one of the highest percentages of employment. This industry is very dependent on regional weather and many tourism destinations by making use of this element have become prosperous destinations in certain seasons. In some way we can count climate as a natural tourism attraction for a region. Our goal in this study is to assess city of Golmakan’s climatic comfort conditions and determining adequate periods for tourism in this city using Terjung index. To achieve this we used statical data from a period of 20 years (1990-2010). Our results indicate that months of May and October have adequate climatic conditions for tourism, and we expect that authorities with optimal planning can create adequate conditions for tourism, recreational and leisure activities. This can play and effective role in increasing revenue and employment rate of this region.
