چکیده مقاله:

Recovery improvement and enhancing oil production by reducing water production are the main purposes of oil and gas industry. Downhole inflow control valves (ICVs) allow to operate unconventional wells efficiently. These wells are called smart wells, providing the ability to independently control each perforated layer. These wells are convenient to maximize oil production or to minimize unwanted fluid production such as water.Complex production systems are often divided into some subsystems (reservoir, well and surface facilities) that typically are treated independently in both design and operations. The integrated production modeling (IPM) was developed to asset and manage uncertainties during development plans, infrastructure implementation and operation of a field management. In this regard, the production system can be modeled by IPM as a network. Moreover, all separated parts of production network are coupled each other. The IPM is one of the best methods for comprehensive identification of a field.Smart well completions can cause an increase in oil production rate and a decrease in cumulative water production. Furthermore, employing IPM suit in this completion can lead to accurate and reliable results. In this work, to tackle excessive water production, two scenarios (reactive and proactive) were implemented and simulated to improve oil production rate as well as decline water cut. The results demonstrated that employing smart wells completion through IPM approach can diminish the water production rates intriguingly. Eventually, the proactive scenario recognized as a best method in controlling the unwanted water flow in comparison to other three scenarios (base case, reactive and proactive).
