Assessment Habitat Suitability of Phasianus colchicus (talishensis) in Siahkal, GilanProvince, Northern Iran

The present study has been done to assess Common Pheasant Phasianus colchicus population in nature and habitat suitability rate. We used call counting to estimate the population of Common Pheasant in reproduction season (spring) in Tootestan habitat in Siahkal area of Gilan Province. The most calls were heard in part 3 of garden section of the Tootestan. According to the sexual rate we have estimated 153 Common Pheasants. Study on habitat suitability is necessary the attention to fundamental factors of life. Thus we identified biotic and threatened factors and we sorted quantity factors by numbers rate and quality actors by ranking mode (excellent, good, middle, weak) and then we evaluated value of the habitat suitability per part and also total habitat. The part 3 of garden with prevailing cover of shrub/grass has most suitability index is 0.8. Then 2, 4, 1 parts have most suitability index.
