The impact of ideology on press translation from English into Persian (A case study)

Although many research papers have studied the impact of ideology on translation, not much is done on the way it influences press translation from English into Persian. Using CDA model proposed by Farahzad (2007), this study investigates the role of ideology in press translation from English into Persian. A case study consisted of 7 BA students of English translation is conducted. They are asked to translate some news related to Middle East developments from April 7,2012 to May 7,2012 .The results confirmed the impact of ideology.57.14 % of students’ translations were influenced by ideology.
