چکیده مقاله:

Due to the importance of geothermal energy as it is approximately 15000 times more than fuel resources and also is known as the third source of the electrical energy generation among the renewable energies, analysis of this energy is essential. In Iran, investigations show that an energy potential of about 118*108 joule has been estimated for the geothermal energy. Using such a potential can decrease the electricity generation as well as the environmental pollutions. In the present work, the technology of using the geothermal energy for the electrical energy generation is investigated and its economical and environmental effects are assessed. For this purpose the geothermal power plant of Meshkin Shahr as a real project is analysed.
