چکیده مقاله:

Soil erosion is a naturally occurring process on all land. Control of soil erosion is a basic problem in all countries, and it is a big threat to environment. The aim of this study is to evaluate erosion sediment yield of Jowzan watershed by MPSIAC model, using Geographic Information System (GIS). A most reason for using this model is because of the accuracy of the obtained result. Jowzan watershed is located in Hamedan province (SE Malayer). The area is about 19.16 Km’, with annual precipitation about 440.38 mm. Elevation is ranged between 1900 to 2820 m .This area is a part of geological (1:100000) map of Malayer. And it is one of Gamasiab's river sub basins. The litho unites include: Yonger Gravel Fan (Quaternary); Dolomitic Sandstone, Grey Limeston, Marly Limestone (Cretaceous); Phyllit, Slate, Schist and Metamorphic Sandstone (Jurassic). 9 factors of MPSIAC model were defined by using Arc GIS, after weighting factors utilizing GIS; erosion map is produced according to calculated results. The study area is divided to 2 erosion class: low and very low. And calculated sediment yield of watershed (Qs) is 131.241 m3/km2.yr.
