چکیده مقاله:

Objective: To assess the feed diet effect on marine fish cage cultures and to conduct a survey on fatty liver syndrome. Method & Materials: A survey has been conducted in southern Iran in Imam Port and Hengam Island cage cultures on summer 2007 and Histopathological analysis revealed "fatty liver" in all examined cultured yellow-fin sea bream (Acanthopagrus latus). In this survey, 50 fishes in Imam port (in Persian Gulf) and 55 fishes in Hengam Island (in Oman Sea) from floating cages were sampled. The target organs such as liver, kidney and spleen were submitted to the laboratory for histopathology examination after fixing in formalin solution (%10). Results & Conclusion: In all of the liver and spleen samples, cell changes such as vacuolization, atrophy and degeneration of cells was observed due to fatty infiltration indicating the occurrence of "Fatty Liver Syndrome". Investigation of feed diet showed that the main food sources were BIOMAR manufactured food and useless fishes such as KHAROU (Chirocentrus dorab), GOAF (Dorosoma nasus), MAID (Pseudosciaena aneus). Growth reduction, fin-rot, anorexia, enlargement of liver and spleen and flotation of liver was observed in clinical and necropsy studies.
