چکیده مقاله:

Objective: Parasitic disease can damage Iranian aquatic nature every year and have huge impact on aquaculture. Ligulose is one of the main parasitic disease which is found in Iran. The cause of this disease is a cestoda known as L. intestinalis. The aim of the present study was to investigate the occurrence ofthis parasite in Chalcalburnus chalcoides in Vahdat Dam, located in Sanandaj. Method & Materials: Fish specimens were collected in spring and autumn 1386 with nets (mesh size from 8 to 24 millimeters) in 4 different point diameter at the Vahdat dam. The fish were taken to the laboratory and identified, then autopsies were conducted on each fish and the occurrence of L. intestinalis was surveyed. Results & Conclusion: The results were presented by descriptive statistics and main indexing. From the 100 Chalcalburnus chalcoides fish in the weight range of 8 to 25 only 25 of them had the parasite. In all 25 cases the parasite was found from the abdomen area. Considering the high prevalence (25%), high potential for the outbreak of this parasite (carrier host and temperature) and the danger of it becoming endemic, the prevention of this parasite seems necessary. The large size and poisonous effects of these parasites has a negative effect on the growth and reproduction of the fish. The infected fish are seriously thin and have low amounts of fat deposits. One of the economically negative effects of the Ligulose is the sterilization effect. On the other hand considering the zoonotic property of this parasite makes it a metter of importance. Thus controlling the birds and preventing there contact with the fish, quarrying the most infected parts of the lake and biologic control of the fish eating fish such as Stedestio lucioperca can drastically reduce the outbreak of Ligulose.
