In this paper, effects of Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) on constant-ductility inelastic displacement ratios of multi-story structures are addressed under artificial pulse models. The soil beneath the superstructure is simulated based on the Cone model concept. The superstructure is modeled as a nonlinear multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) shear building. It is demonstrated that SSI effects make inelastic displacement ratios of buildings increase for both forward directivity and fling pulses. Slenderizing the superstructure also leads to increase of inelastic displacement ratios. Inelastic displacement ratios obtained from fling pulses show a distinct peak value and have more regular trend than forward directivity ones. Furthermore, the results demonstrate that there is pulse-to-fixed-base period ratio below which fling effects are governing and result in greater inelastic displacement ratios.
