Solvent Effect on Absorption and Fluorescence Spectra of Some Coumarin Dyes

Absorption and fluorescence emission spectra of coumarin dyes dyes (Disperse yellow 232,184, 82) were recorded in solvents with different solvent parameters. The effect of solvents on absorption and fluorescence spectra and dipole moments of coumarin dyes have been studied extensively in various solvents, general solvents, alcohols at 298 K. The bathchromic shift observed in absorption and fluorescence spectra of them with increasing solvent polarity indicates that transitions involved are MNM*.
