The Impressibility of Food Products Trade from Transportation among Three Continents

This paper aims to evaluate the trends of trade and transportation of two food products including food and live animals in aggregate and one of its constituents, meat and meat preparations, based on the UN Standard International Trade Classification, for 125 countries among Asia, Europe and Africa for 9 years covering the period from 1965 to 2005. The database encompasses three variables including weight of the international trade, gross domestic product, GDP, and the information of a multimodal transportation network comprising three modes of transportation which have been gathered and defined. After accomplishing analyses and computations, gravity models of trade are calibrated and developed for the two products. By the consequences derived from these models, the trends of trade and transportation are formed. These trends signify that the impressibility of the weight of the trade from transportation is increasing during the time period for both products.
