چکیده مقاله:
During time and structures life increase, structure preformence decrease. Also, varoius factors such as enviromental damage, steel corrosion and concrete scaling, lead to reduce structural efficiency and elements can not reach their preliminary design bearing capacity. Additionally, change in building usage and increase in their applied loads, need to structures improvement is felt more than ever. Also, it is clear that columns play great role in structures stability and are critical elements to resist and transfer stresses. Because of this, columns are most important in retrofitting proccess. One of conventional retrofitting methods is concrete jacketing. In this research, a case study about a 3story residental building retrofitting is considered to change its usage to a resturant. In this way, considered structure is modeling by numerical methods and defects on its columns identified and is retrofitted by concrete jackets. Then, retrofitted structure modeled again and effect of concrete jackets on bearing capacity is reviewed. Finally, results is compared with laboratory samples results
