DECISION-MAKING ANALYSIS FOR SEISMIC RETROFIT CONSIDERING SEISMIC RISK

this paper presents a methodology to make informed decisions for seismic retrofitting based on risk management and expected economic benefit and discussion of the use of seismic loss estimation for retrofit decision -making . Three performance measures: repair cost , casualties, downtime according to ATC-58 is considered for loss estimation . time -based performance assessments is used for loss estimates with utilizing performance assessment calculation tool PACT which provide a distribution of probable earthquake loss considering all earhquakes that may affect the building in given time period and the probability of occurrence of each considering two cases of collapse and NO-Collapse for building and using probabilistic framework annual loss AL has been estimated.
