چکیده مقاله:

Modern weapons systems often introduce Radar Cross Section (RCS) specification in addition to other more conventional requirements such as speed, weight, and payload. Development of increasingly sophisticated Radar detection systems threatens to reduce the mission effectiveness of many type of this modern platforms (such as Fast ships). Strong attention is now being given to methods of increasing the Survivability by reducing detectability with Radar Cross-Section Reduction (RCSR). Usually fast ships operate in the near shores, so that with considering the probability of tracking these ships in short operational range from shore, the RCSR of this kind of ships becomes a great vital task. In this paper the method of RCSR of this kind of complex targets (fast ships) with "Shaping Method" is studied. First a real 3D model of a certain vehicle structure as the initial prototype plan is analyzed and the maximizing points in RCS plot are determined. Then by shaping technique principles, the hulls and superstructure and nose of this complex target is modified to reduce the magnitude of these maximizing points, which caused the proposed prototype plan. The reduction in RCS by this method is seen to be at least 1.0089 dBsm at φ = 900 and 19.9307 dBsm at φ = 2700 which are approximately 20% and 98% in RCS reduction respectively, showing the effectiveness of the proposed procedure.
