چکیده مقاله:

This research aims to analyze the causes of independence seeking of the French and Spanish Basques, and to investigate the characteristics of representation of this movement, and its similarities and variants in Spain and France, and its practical manifestations during the history. The main hypothesis of the research implies that the nationalist movement history of Basqueregion on one hand, and the radicalization of mentioned movement by Eta and their militaryactions imply that the political, cultural and linguistic demands of the Spanish and French Basques have old historical roots. In other words, the historical demands of the people of Basqueregion (i.e. their political, cultural and linguistic demands) is not a temporal and periodicalphenomenon and thus they require more effective and efficient decisions and actions, because such demands can be manifested stronger in these two countries in future. Thus in this article wewill attempt to analyze and explain the historical roots and current reflection of the political andcultural demands of French and Spanish Basques using library resources and descriptiveanalytical methodology.
