Word formation and the Comparison between Derivational Suffixes in English and Persian

Vocabulary includes the whole words which are in the mind of individuals that not only are necessary to make meaning by them, but also important in terms of their structure. So, vocabulary knowledge helps learners to create new words in first and second languages. Since learners of languages faced with words that are unfamiliar with, the knowledge of units of language seems to be necessary to them. To do so, word formation which includes all processes used to create new lexemes out of the roots by adding affixes enables them to make new words and decipher the structure of them to understand the meaning. Therefore, having morphological awareness enables learners to decode the form of words, find out new vocabularies, and make new ones in different languages.
