Analysis of animals’ symbol in Animal Farm story

In this paper attempts will be made to analyze the symbols of animals in the story of Animal Farm by Orwell (5491) and to compare them with Jobs (5441) and Ferber’s works (1002). In this symbolic story the writer wanted to show some characters in Russian revolution. At first a short summary of this story will be presented and secondly, setting of the story will be explained. Then the symbols of animals are compared with Jobs (5441) and Ferber’s works (1002) and some examples are quoted from this story. Finally, the animals which refer to those political characters are mentioned. In this paper animals are analyzed through intralingual comparison. In this story some animals have the major roles and because of this, sentences which refer to them are a lot. On the other hand some animals have minor roles, therefore just one example is given for them, also there are some animals in this story which are specified as male and female which did not have counterparts in Jobs (5441) and Ferber’s book (1002) because of this problem they are just mentioned in the last paragraph which refer to the political characters. Symbols are somehow personal and they may differ from person to person. In English some writers like Jobs (5441) and Ferber (1002) have collected some animal symbols in literature, but no one has compared them with the animals in Animal Farm story.
