چکیده مقاله:

Application of Advanced Process Control (APC) to control chemical plants depends severely on the model which represents the transient behavior of the plant. On the other hand all identification methods proposed for chemical processes have been used for one or at most two pieces of equipment. In order to apply these methods for plant-wide identification an Object oriented Process Identifier (OPI) has been proposed. OPI is an object oriented framework which can be used in gray box modeling and identification of various systems including chemical processes. The proposed framework provides a straight forward procedure in which all the system insight and knowledge can be automatically used in model selection and identification of various systems, in general and chemical process equipment in particular. The performance of the OPI has been evaluated through its application for identification of two bench marks frequently used by research community of nonlinear process control. According to the results obtained for these bench marks, OPI is flexible and robust enough to capture the dynamic behavior of the system rigorously and based on the minimum amount of information.
