چکیده مقاله:

One of the major benefits of additive manufacturing processes is that it is possible to make any complexity of geometry and produce multiple assemblies manufactured as one at no extra cost. The vast and exciting potential for future AM applications is fabrication of novel textiles. However, there are many research issues that need to be evaluated before the production of textile structures. The most fundamental issue for creating CAD textiles is the great amount of facets that make very large data sets. In this paper the large data sets of novel Rapid Manufacturing (RM) textiles are decreased by choosing desired geometry of CAD textiles with lowest facets. In addition, the products quality and ease of generation of CAD data are investigated and mechanical performance is evaluated using finite element methods (FEM). The results of this study are considered for design and manufacture of novel textiles producible via AM.
