چکیده مقاله:

The study aimed to investigate impact of individual values on organizational commitment among bank employees. Purposive sampling was used for data collection. Schwartz Value Survey (SVS) (1994) translated by Qureshi (2010) and Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) by Meyer and Allen (1991) were used for data collection. The study was completed in two parts i-e pilot study (N=39) where the alpha reliabilities were checked and construct validity was established. Second part i-e main study (N=205) where the proposed hypothesizes were tested. The results revealed that there is a strong correlation between individual values and Organizational commitment. In addition to this a positive and significant relationship among the three levels of commitment i.e. effective, normative and continuance commitment and different dimensions of individual values i.e. self enhancement, conservation and self transcendence respectively have been revealed through present research. The results also suggest significant gender differences for organizational commitment and individual values for different levels and dimensions respectively. Implications, limitations and conclusion of the study have also been discussed.
