In power system reliability of a restructure distribution system is an important issue for making the system more economic and efficient. In this paper, we talked about relevant issues and aims at providing a general definition for distributed power generation, energy sources, then Security and Reliability analyzes of distributed generation through System average interruption duration index (SAIDI) and System average interruption frequency index (SAIFI) characters in two different modes separately. This techniques is mixed with an intelligent algorithm named Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Also, this paper presented here evaluates improvement in reliability over a time varying load curve. Reliability indices for load points and the overall system have been developed. The new index makes it easier to locate areas where reliability needs to be improved. The usefulness of this new index is demonstrated with numerical examples
