APPROPRIATE SCADA ARCHITECTURE FOR DISTRIBUTED INFRASTRUCTURE: IMPORTANCE OF THE OILFIELD DATA

In this paper, simplified retrospective of available structures of SCADA systems applicable to automation assets with dispersed infrastructure is given, with reference to the most important characteristics of each structure and author’s perspective on applicability in typical oilfield applications.Also, modern Internet based SCADA system structure is discussed, as well as cloud computing trends affecting the users of the SCADA systems.
