Regardless of wide application of wave spectra in various offshore and coastal engineering fields such as wave penetration studies of harbors and dynamic analysis of marine platforms, for most interested areas, a reliable dataset which presents an appropriate spectral pattern is not available. Therefore, some standard spectral patterns which were derived from measurements in special conditions, have been used for such applications. Standard spectral patterns which are mostly applied, are JONSWAP and PIERSON-MOSKWITS. This paper is an attempt to find out if JONSWAP spectral pattern is a valid spectral pattern for Anzali port region
