According to the influential role of the connections on the behavior of steel buildings, this study examines the effect of the numbers of ADAS dampers on the ductility of steel moment connections with the aim of increasing energy absorption of steel moment connections. These plates may prevent the development of structural damage. Therefore, this study evaluates the seismic performance of rigid beam connections to the column equipped with ADAS dampers using the ABAQUS software. The cyclic behavior of these connections is also examined. The number of ADAS plates are the parameter of the variable studied in the connections of the beam to the modeled column. For this purpose, three numerical models of rigid beam to the column connections were simulated. These models respectively have 4, 6 and 8 ADAS dampers. The behavior of these models were compared with each other using hysteresis curves. The results showed that among these simulated models, the area under the curve of models in which six sections were used in damper is relatively more than the other models (4 and 8). In other words, in the simulated rigid beam to column connections of this study, the percent of energy absorption in the case of using 6 sections in damper is far more than the other cases. As for example, in the case of using 6 parabolic sections with the thickness of 1/5 cm and yield strain of 2400 kg/cm2, the area under the curve is 7/28 percent more than the case of using 8 sections of the same properties.
