چکیده مقاله:

Rockfill dam without impermeable core is a kind of detention dam used for flood control and protection. In order to conduct flood routing the flow hydraulics must be determined, afterwards by extracting the stagedischarge relationship, flood routing calculation can be carried out. In this research, flow hydraulics through atrapezoidal rockfill dam has been modeled. This model simulates water surface profiles for 1D non-Darcy flow through a trapezoidal dam. Due to the effect of turbulence, Reynold’s number-friction factor relationship in power form is considered. Afterwards, the phreatic surface within the dam is calculated via the standard step method starting from the exit depth located on the downstream face of the dam which is used as theboundary condition. The turbulent effect on the mentioned depth has been included by modifying the Pavlovsky’s equation using optimization technique and a two-dimensional model’s data collected for this purpose. The one-dimensional and two-dimensional model results employed in this research show a good agreement with the experimental data.
