Considering their simple structure and low production and maintenance cost, wind powerhouses are becoming highly-demanded these days. Unfortunately, the very basic problem to vastly employ these generators in industry is due to difficulty to control these blocks under uncertainties and large distortion magnitudes. In this paper, a modified control method will be proposed in which, in addition to proper fast operation, it makes generator robust against these issues. To be able to present the details of the proposed method, at first, the generator along with its control system is modeled properly. A mixed H2 and H∞ controller is designed and elaborated next. The whole system with proposed controller is simulated finally despite noise and distortion induced by the environment. Results reveal that the designed controller is highly-efficient in different aspects from tracking to distortion damping and noise elimination.
