Knowledge Management Competitive Advantage on SMEs

The new knowledge-based economy is built on information technology and sharing of knowledge and intellectual capital. In such a knowledge-based economy, competitive advantage will be with those enterprises that have the capacity to deliver fast and innovative forms of processes that raise productivity. In such an environment, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have tremendous opportunities .SMEs contribute greatly and increasingly to innovation-led growth and job creation in recent years and play a fundamental role in the growth of economy of any country. They can be better performing in their operations and improving financial results by using benefits of knowledge management. This paper reviews important reasons of knowledge management application in SMEs and the critical success factors that affect knowledge management implementation in SMEs
