خلاصه مقاله:
A numerical optimization method based on adjoint equations for compressible flow over two-dimensional airfoils is explained in this paper. Each cycle of design procedure for this method requires the numerical solution to the Euler set of equation as well as the adjoint equations. The described technique is then used for the two design problems usually arisen in aerodynamic shape optimization, inverse pressure design and drag minimization with the specified lift constraint.
