خلاصه مقاله:
A semi-active control system can provide similar performance as active control systems, with a lower cost, and a safer and more practical feasibility under destructive earthquakes. In this stuy, Magneto-rheological (MR) dampers are considered for semi-active control of a 20-story building, because they are reliable, inexpensive, relatively insensitive to temperature fluctuations, and require a minimal power consumption. Based on a previously existing model of the building, For this purpos, an active H2/LQG control strategy is designed first, and then converted to a semi-active one, using the clipped-optimal control algorithm, which incorporates the semi-active dampers in the closed-loop control system. The results reported herein indicate that the designed semi-active control system is quite effective in reducing the seismic response of the building. Finally, a comparison is made with the results obtained by other researchers.
