This paper is devoted to present the different type of tests (Performance, Reliability, and Accelerated Tests) for internal combustion engines. Insufficient design and manufacturing process of the engines enforced engineers to upgrade traditional performance tests to reliability test following with accelerated concept. Performance tests are qualified performance parameters in an engine, but reliability tests can be
used for estimating reliability indices and quality indices over lifetime of engine which more important in exploitations. Accelerated tests are the new methodology for both (performance and reliability tests) that can be economized test cost with high accuracy. In this paper, author introduced fundamental concepts and some applications in internal combustion engines.
