Designing and Proposing a Movable Spoiler in order to Improve Aerodynamic Conditions of the Samand

چکیده مقاله:

In this paper, aerodynamic forces of Samand at different velocities have been calculated by CFD method and results validated by comparing with experimental results. A new spoiler has been proposed and designed in order to balance and increase safety of car and also reduce drag force for the purpose of decreasing fuel consumption and air pollution.After calculating aerodynamic forces with this spoiler, they were compared with Samand without any spoiler and a comprehensive conclusion was presented. Also in this investigation, effects of angle and height of spoilers on these forces have been considered. After that optimum points for angle and height have been selected and for different velocities, special positions for spoiler have been recommended and this process can be controlled with a microcontroller automatically. This proposed spoiler can adapt its position in any different velocity and this has important and remarkable effects on aerodynamic conditions of this national and popular car.
